Portland, OR – Independent Retirement, a family-owned and privately held regional leader in tailored retirement plan solutions, is proud to announce a leadership transition that ensures continuity and growth for the company. After 18 years of dedicated service as Founder and President, Linda Burnside is passing the torch to her son, Eric Burnside, who will assume the role of President and CEO effective January 1, 2025. Linda will remain with the company as Senior Client Success Manager, continuing to provide valuable guidance and support to clients and team members.

Eric has been an integral part of the company since 2016, serving as both Director of Finance and Director of Sales and Marketing. His contributions have been instrumental in the company’s growth and success. As the incoming CEO, Eric is committed to upholding the values that have made Independent Retirement a trusted name. His vision for the next chapter includes continued steady growth, developing greater operational excellence, expanding services, implementing new technology to make clients' lives easier, and continuing to take care of the incredible team that supports Independent Retirement’s mission.
