In our "Back to Basics – Election Changes" webinar, we will cover the fundamentals of election changes. The webinar will begin with a discussion of some of the basics for cafeteria plan elections, including which benefits might be affected, who can make elections, and other general rules for making elections. Next, we will discuss when elections may be changed mid-year. This will include information about making changes on account of HIPAA special enrollment events and changes permitted under IRC Section 125. We will also explain the concept of consistency and provide examples to illustrate the rules. Finally, we will conclude with a discussion on penalties for non-compliance.
