Press Release

Buckingham Welcomes Patrick J. Egan as Partner, Expanding Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Services

Issued by Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC

Sept. 18, 2025

CLEVELAND -- Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is pleased to announce that Patrick J. Egan has joined the firm as a Partner in its Cleveland office, bringing more than two decades of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law. Patrick's arrival significantly enhances Buckingham's capabilities in advising clients on complex matters governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), further strengthening the firm's commitment to delivering comprehensive legal solutions in this area.

Patrick concentrates his practice on the design, administration, and legal compliance of tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare benefit programs. His deep understanding of ERISA and related regulations allows him to provide proactive, strategic counsel to employers, helping them meet fiduciary obligations and avoid costly compliance pitfalls.

"Patrick's extensive ERISA experience and practical approach to solving benefit-related challenges make him a tremendous asset to our team and our clients," said Steven Dimengo, Managing Partner at Buckingham. "His addition reflects our continued investment in building a premier Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice."

In addition to his work with broad-based benefit plans, Patrick advises on executive compensation arrangements, including non-qualified deferred compensation plans, employment agreements, and equity incentive programs. He also brings valuable experience in managing employee benefit issues during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless transitions and minimizing risk for clients.

Patrick's practice also includes advising employers on union-sponsored multiemployer pension plans, with a particular focus on mitigating withdrawal liability assessments. His collaborative style and clear communication have earned him a reputation for guiding clients through complex legal landscapes with confidence and clarity.

Patrick earned his J.D. from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Duquesne University and holds a B.A. in History/Pre-law from Moravian University. He is admitted to practice in Ohio and before the United States Supreme Court.
