This webinar is part of the Miller Johnson Daily Briefing on COVID-19 series. On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, the DOL and IRS issued final regulations that extend various deadlines related to employee benefit plans, particularly group health plans, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under these extended deadlines, participants and beneficiaries will have more time to request mid-year enrollments, exercise their COBRA rights, and exercise their claim and appeal rights. We will discuss these various extensions and highlight potential administrative difficulties that may arise for plan sponsors and their third-party administrators. |
