June 9, 2020 On-Demand Webinar |
|
[Editor's note: link is to 46 presentation slides from June 9, 2020 webinar.] The Retirement Confidence Survey (RCS) was conducted for its 30th year in 2020 to measure attitudes toward, preparations for, and understanding of the various issues / products for retirement by American workers and retirees. The RCS found that Americans, as of January 2020, had near record highs of confidence in having enough money to live comfortably throughout retirement. These levels held as late as the end of March 2020. However, the survey also found that women had lower levels of retirement confidence than men did. Women were also more likely to have less resources and have different preparations for retirement. Join us for this webinar focusing on the RCS results of women, since they face particular challenges in preparing for retirement, including lower average earnings, higher likelihoods of taking time out of the labor force for raising children, and longer life expectancies with more years in retirement. We will also take a look at how women of different marital statuses face diverse retirement challenges. Panelists will also share practical perspectives derived from working with women and their finances. Moderator: S. Katherine Roy, Chief Retirement Strategist, J.P. Morgan Asset Management Panelist:
EBRI thanks the Capital Group, Columbia Threadneedle, Invesco, J.P. Morgan, LGIMA, Lincoln Financial, Mercer, MetLife, Nationwide Financial, PIMCO, Principal Financial Group, T. Rowe Price, Segal, and Vanguard for underwriting the 2020 Retirement Confidence Survey. |
