jsample Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 I wasn't sure where to ask this and after searching the forums I am guessing here. Does anyone still use FDP? I have a friend who is trying to run valuations using FDP for 12/31/20, and the old DOS based system thinks 12/31/20 is earlier than 12/31/19, so nothing will run. My friend is not sure if it is an FDP issue or a DOS issue. I know this is really reaching - for the youngsters, FDP was a recordkeeping / compliance software laid to rest around 2000 / 2001 (?). Thanks - if no one can help, hopefully this post at least made someone chuckle.
Bill Presson Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 FDP software still lives?? Wasn't it purchased by Relius? William C. Presson, ERPA, QPA, QKA bill.presson@gmail.com C 205.994.4070
pmacduff Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 We used FDP back in the day. It was morphed over to Relius (actually Quantech first but that's another story). Anyway - I'm not sure I am chuckling, it's more scary I think. Why on earth is someone running a val on FDP and the DOS version no less? Not to mention the myriad of changes that have happened in the Regs since then..... Bill Presson 1
chc93 Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Probably FDP issue, not DOS. Looks like FDP was programmed such that they didn't expect the software to be used past 2019 (seems reasonable to me as pmacduff mentions above). So "19" translates to "2019". And then "20" translates to "1920". If so, you are "out of luck".

Just a copy on my "friends" standalone PC and 20+ years worth of ESOP history (and this old dog doesn't want to learn new tricks). Bill Presson 1
Bill Presson Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Well, apparently it lives somewhere! A little surprised this issue hasn't shown up before. William C. Presson, ERPA, QPA, QKA bill.presson@gmail.com C 205.994.4070

Maybe a possibility is that there is an option in FDP for the 2-digit year swicth from 1900 to 2000... but I would think this could cause other issues such as current age if a participant was born in, say, 1935 (85 years old), which we are seeing more of these days....
AMDG Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Y2K issues - Yet another thing that was not included on my 2020 BINGO card... On 11/30/2020 at 1:42 PM, jsample said: So "19" translates to "2019". And then "20" translates to "1920". If so, you are "out of luck". Lou S. and Bill Presson 2
