"[The DOL] has proposed to expand the definition of 'fiduciary' under ERISA section 3(21) with regard to investment advisers and those providing valuation services to employee benefit plans.... [W]e think that plan sponsors could be forced to curtail the information provided to participants regarding the investment options offered. In this respect, the proposal inadvertently could work to the detriment of plan participants by limiting investor education efforts."  MORE >>
