Auto Escalation Beats Savings Inertia, So Why the Hesitancy?

"[W]hile 62 percent of employers with large plans (over $200 million in assets) automatically enroll new employees into their plan, far fewer (48 percent) have adopted automatic escalation... The top three reasons that employers gave for not offering automatic escalation were: [1] Too paternalistic toward employees ... [2] Employees would complain ... [3] Too costly from a company matching perspective[.]"
