S&P 1500 Pension Funded Status Remains at 77% for Fourth Month in a Row

Nov. 4, 2016 "The estimated aggregate funding level of pension plans sponsored by S&P 1500 companies remained at 77 percent funded status at the end of October 2016, as an increase in discount rates was offset by negative equity markets. As of October 31, 2016, the estimated aggregate deficit of $530 billion represents a decrease of $21 billion as compared to the end of September 2016.
