Nov. 1, 2018 "Mortality rates are continuing to improve, but at a much slower rate than previously observed.... [T]he age-adjusted mortality improvement rate averaged just 0.5% per year from 2009 to 2016, compared to a 1.6% per year improvement from 2000 to 2009.
