"National health expenditure growth is expected to average 5.5 percent annually from 2018-2027, reaching nearly $6.0 trillion by 2027... [CMS] projects the health share of GDP to rise from 17.9 percent in 2017 to 19.4 percent by 2027.... Spending growth for prescription drugs is projected to generally accelerate over 2018-2027 (and average 5.6 percent) mostly as a result of faster utilization growth."
