U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Defends Ability of Peers to Hear Challenge to Health Care Reform Law
"Federal law requires that judges disqualify themselves when they have a financial interest in a case, have given ad-vice or expressed an opinion 'concerning the merits of the particular case' or when their 'impartiality might reasonably be questioned.' For lower court judges, such a decision can be reviewed by a higher court, but the Supreme Court has no such review."

Can My Company Force Me to Take Health Insurance?
"Another reason the company requires you to take the health insurance is that if you do get sick, not being able to get care means you won't be able to work, you'll have high stress which makes the health situation worse, and even when you recover, you'll be buried under bills which will affect your performance level. They are looking out for their self interest as well as yours."

Early Retiree Reinsurance Program Flawed
"A Health Care reform law program providing $5 bil.lion in subsidies for sponsors of early retiree health plans may not have been a 'bailout,' but it was inequitable and maybe even deceptive."

Empowering Patients as Key Decision Makers in the Face of Rising Health Care Costs
"For policymakers and the public, the basic question is not whether there should be rationing in health care: It already exists. Economics itself is an exercise in rationing among goods and services because limited resources cannot purchase unlimited goods. The crucial question is: Who should make the rationing decisions?"

'Essential Benefits' and Health Reform
"Even the most fiercely antiregulation states will not be free to approve extremely miserly policies, because they will have to be comparable to popular and fairly comprehensive 'benchmark' private plans. There are concerns that insurance company lobbyists . . . will find ways to shape requirements to favor their bottom lines rather than consumers."

Six Workplace Perks That Can Do More Harm Than Good
"The problem with most perks is that they may be intended as rewards, but all they really do is create artificial distinctions based on arbitrary and often self-serving criteria. That's why dropping most perks ' either yours or those extended to certain others ' is a great way to eliminate real or perceived barriers between you and your employees."
