Three Key Executives Appointed to Help Strengthen Leading National Employee Benefits Consulting Firm’s Growing Presence in Houston Jan. 5, 2021 --Lockton Companies announced that Lockton Dunning Benefits, has hired highly respected industry leaders Jason Mahler, FSA, Travis Brashear, JD, and Don Harrison to expand its growing presence in the Houston market. All three executives will work closely with the firm’s clients across the nation to develop data-driven employee benefits strategies, as well as to further enhance Lockton’s significant presence in Houston. Mahler, Brashear and Harrison have demonstrated success as employee benefits consultants, with deep roots in the Houston market. They have worked with national consulting firms and innovative solution providers, developing close ties with the community both personally and professionally. Bruce Sammis, chief executive officer of Lockton Dunning Benefits, commented on the appointments: “Jason, Travis and Don are among the top talent in our industry, all bringing a considerable wealth of experience and knowledge that will play a pivotal role in our strategic growth. Our commitment to independence combined with their strong track records in the industry will strengthen our highly successful and growing practice. More importantly, they will produce the desired client outcomes in this vital market.” Brett Haugh, president of Lockton Dunning Benefits’ Gulf Coast Region, added: “The addition of these talented individuals is a continuation of our long-term investment in Houston and in employers across the nation. Hiring Jason, Travis and Don serves as clear proof of our commitment to provide the best expertise, information, and service to our clients.” Mahler joined as vice president and team lead. He has a strong health and welfare and actuarial background. He has developed long-term benefits strategies for some of the largest employers in Houston and elsewhere in the country. At Holmes Murphy, he served as head of consulting strategy and also held positions at Aon, Watson Wyatt Worldwide and Hewitt Associates. “I am thrilled to be joining Travis and Don at Lockton Dunning Benefits, where we will join a team of talented and dedicated professionals who develop innovative cost-effective employee benefits solutions for employers in this region,” Mahler said. The firm appointed Brashear as a senior vice president and consultant. Prior to joining Lockton Dunning Benefits, he led Holmes Murphy’s Houston team and held senior-level positions at Imagine Healthcare, Willis Tower Watson, and Cigna Healthcare. Appointed as senior vice president and consultant, Harrison has spent his entire career in the Houston area, where he provided human resources and risk guidance to clients. Before joining the firm, Harrison was a vice president of business development at Holmes Murphy.
