Verrill Welcomes Highly Experienced Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Partner, William D. Jewett

Verrill is pleased to welcome attorney William D. Jewett to the firm as a partner in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Group, resident in the firm’s Boston, Massachusetts office.

Jewett maintains a highly sophisticated ERISA, employee benefits and executive compensation practice advising clients in the financial services industry and large employers on a wide variety of benefit and compensation plan design and legal compliance issues. He has regularly assisted clients in mergers and acquisitions, including acquisitions and dispositions of investment managers, and in the structuring and execution of ESOP deals. Bill has special experience working with investment and asset management clients, including large global banks, private equity firms, real estate managers, hedge funds, and investment managers.

Prior to joining Verrill, Jewett was a partner at a global law firm, where he worked with a wide range of clients on employee benefits and executive compensation related issues. Before embarking on his legal career, he was an associate professor in the English Department at Yale University. He received his bachelor’s degree from Yale College and his master’s degree and doctorate from Yale University. He earned his law degree from Yale Law School.
