National Institute of Pension Administrators Announces 2021-2022 Officers and Directors

Chicago —The National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA)is pleased to announce the 2021-2022officers and board members.

Matt King, will serve as President of NIPA’s Board of Directors effective July 1, 2021 and will continue to be a member of the BMC Committee. King has more than 20 years of retirement plan industry experience and is currently the National TPA Relationship Director at Securian Financial’s retirement solutions division. At Securian, he is responsible for driving the company’s TPA strategy and developing a TPA program based on connection, commitment and conviction. King is honored to serve as NIPA’s President and continuing to elevate TPAs in the retirement plan space. King is based out of West Hartford, Conn.

Emily Burr, APA, AIF, will serve as the President-elect for the 2021-2022term, as well as a member on the Membership Engagement Committee. Since 1989, Burr has worked in the retirement field handling all aspects of plan conversions, investment line-ups, plan design and client consulting. On a day-to-day basis, she conducts regular meeting with plan sponsors to consult on regulatory changes and to provide investment reviews and employee education. Burr is also a licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent and holds FINRA Series 6 and 66 investment licenses.

Shayna Osborne, APA, APR, ERPA, QPA, will serve as the Chief Financial Officerand the Chair of the Professional Development Committee. Shayna is the President at Osborne Associates in Modesto, Cali. and has more than 35 years of experience, specializing in profit sharing, pension, 401(k), cash balance and defined benefit/defined contribution combo plans. Her ERPA accreditation, which is approved by the Internal Revenue Service, allows her to practice before the IRS regarding retirement plan issues.

Mike Bourne, CPA, MBA, will serve as the Immediate Past President. Bourne is the Managing Partner of Atéssa Benefits, as well as a founder and partner of MB Actuarial Services. He has 10 years of experience in the retirement and consulting field, specializing in ERISA compliance and defined benefit plans, including cash balance plans. He helps business owners extract tax-deductible wealth from their businesses that does not affect the valuation of their businesses. He also offers business owners services in defined contribution plans. Bourne is based out of San Diego, Calif.

Ilene Ferenczy, APA, CPC, Esq.,will serve as the Member at Large for the NIPA Board of Directors for the 2021-2022 term, as well as a member on the Professional Development Committee. A nationally known thought leader in the qualified retirement plan arena, Ferenczy is the managing partner of Ferenczy Benefits Law Center. She is well versed in the practical challenges faced by employers and fiduciaries, third-party administrators, and investment advisors and managers in the retirement plan realm. As an attorney, Ferenczy also advocates to the DOL and IRS on behalf of plans and their sponsors.
