Press Release

ASPPA Honors Nova 401(k)’s Craig Hoffman

Issued by Nova 401(k) Associates

Oct. 26, 2021

Houston, TX, October 26, 2021 - Nova’s own Craig Hoffman was recognized last week at the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries Annual Conference with its lifetime achievement award, the Harry T. Eidson Founders Award.

The award was established in 1995 in honor of ASPPA’s founder, Harry T. Eidson, whose belief in the importance of the private pension system in the United States led him to build an organization committed to not only safeguarding, but enhancing that system.

The award is given annually to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to ASPPA and/or the private pension system.

“Don’t ever lose sight of the fact the work we do does make a difference. You are helping Americans save so they can financially secure retirement,“ said Hoffman in accepting the award.

He was particularly gratified by the fact that his wife, Joyce Hoffman, (whom he met at an ASPPA conference) and his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Lemm, were in attendance, noting that ASPPA “has not just been an important part of my professional life, it has played a significant role in my personal life!”

Nova congratulates Craig for being recognized by his industry peers and salute his tireless dedication to his craft.

About Craig

Craig P. Hoffman is an Attorney/Senior Consultant with Nova 401(k) Associates in Houston, Texas.

For over thirty-five years, Craig’s practice has focused exclusively on federal tax and ERISA matters relating to the design, implementation, and operation of tax-qualified retirement plans.

He previously served as Counsel to the Trucker Huss law firm in San Francisco, California.

Before joining Trucker Huss, Craig served 10 years as General Counsel for the American Retirement Association, (“ARA”), a national organization of over 20,000 members who provide actuarial, consulting, administrative, legal, investment and other professional services for qualified retirement plans and tax-sheltered annuities.

Craig has served ARA as President, a member of the Board of Directors, Co-Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, and Co-Chair of the Political Action Committee.

Prior to joining ARA, Craig served for over 19 years as General Counsel to the Relius division of SunGard, which is now part of Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. (“FIS”).
