Press Release Robinson+Cole Continues Growth in New York with Addition of Partners in Capital Markets + Securities, Construction, and Managed Care + Employee Benefit Litigation |
Issued by Robinson+Cole Apr. 19, 2023 |
Firm also announces new partner in charge of rapidly expanding New York office NEW YORK, NY – Robinson+Cole announces the addition of Ze'-ev D. Eiger as a partner in the firm’s Capital Markets + Securities Team, Jessica L. Rothman as a partner in the firm’s Construction Group, and E. Evans Wohlforth, Jr. as a partner in the firm’s Managed Care + Employee Benefit Litigation Group. “I’m thrilled to welcome Ze’-ev, Jessica, and Evans to the firm and to our expanding Capital Markets + Securities, Construction, and Managed Care + Employee Benefit Litigation groups,” said Rhonda J. Tobin, Robinson+Cole’s Managing Partner. “They are seasoned lawyers who are highly respected practitioners. Their experience broadens the depth and strength of our practices and the services we offer our clients. Their addition also furthers our strategic objective to grow in large commercial centers.” Eiger represents foreign and domestic investment banks, private equity groups, and public and private companies in connection with a wide variety of transactions, including debt and equity offerings, venture financings, structured financings, restructurings and liability management transactions, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as compliance and corporate governance matters. He has extensive experience working with a wide range of issuers, including financial institutions, biotechnology/health care companies, technology companies, startups, special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), real estate investment trusts (REITs), business development companies (BDCs) and closed and open-end funds. Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Eiger was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP. “I’m really excited about joining the New York office of Robinson+Cole and becoming a member of the Capital Markets + Securities Team,” said Eiger. “I’ve enjoyed collaborating with the Team and am looking forward to capitalizing on existing synergies in my corporate and transactional experience to provide enhanced depth to Robinson+Cole’s Business Transactions Group, especially in New York.” Rothman has 20+ years representing all types of stakeholders in a variety of construction projects. Rothman is experienced in drafting and negotiating contracts, providing general counsel and project management services, risk management and dispute resolution counsel (mediation, arbitration and litigation). Her practice is focused on the representation of project owners, general contractors and construction managers, architects, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and, at times, adjoining property owners in transactions and litigation relating to projects ranging from new buildings to commercial interiors and high-end residential construction. Rothman has significant experience providing legal advice on contracting strategies and project-related financial, schedule, and quality issues. Before joining Robinson+Cole, Rothman was a partner at Ingram Yuzek Gainen Carroll & Bertolotti, LLP. “I’m thrilled to join Robinson+Cole and am already engaging in collaborative efforts with colleagues in the construction practice and throughout the firm. The Firm’s commitment to smart and strategic growth, especially in New York, was very attractive to me and helped to solidify my decision to move my practice,” said Rothman. Wohlforth, Jr. is a business litigator and appellate practitioner with wide and deep experience in the complex and technical issues that arise in sophisticated litigation with a focus on health/managed care matters. He has represented major payors in litigated matters in federal and state trial and appellate courts and in arbitrations. He is listed as counsel on numerous published and unpublished opinions in the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) field and is frequently called on for his proficiency in other code-based areas of federal law, as well as in complex class and multi-district actions involving a wide range of commercial issues. Evans’s broad experience in substantively and procedurally complex matters and his frequent appearances in the courts in New Jersey and elsewhere have made him a trusted authority and advocate by litigants and judges alike. Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Wohlforth, Jr. was a director at Gibbons P.C. “The depth and reach of Robinson+Cole’s Managed Care + Employee Benefit Litigation practice affords me the opportunity to collaborate across a wide and impressive spectrum of capabilities to serve clients. I’m pleased to become an integral member of the team,” said Wohlforth. In addition to welcoming Eiger, Rothman, and Wohlforth, Jr., Robinson+Cole recently named Capital Markets + Securities lawyer Anna Jinhua Wang as Partner in Charge of the firm’s New York City office. Wang joins a talented group of women currently leading several of the firm’s offices: Philadelphia/Wilmington Partner in Charge, Natalie D. Ramsey; Hartford Partner in Charge, Keisha S. Palmer and Stamford Partner in Charge, Megan E. Baroni. Executing on the firm’s strategic plan, Robinson+Cole has seen significant growth in key metropolitan areas. Since 2020, Robinson+Cole has welcomed more than 30 lawyers to its New York office, including a Capital Markets + Securities Team headed by Arila Zhou and a large Insurance Financial Lines team led by John F. McCarrick. The firm has expanded in other target markets as well. In November, Robinson+Cole opened an office in Washington, DC with three intellectual property attorneys and a patent agent. William Bradley joined as a partner, along with Kyle Hepner and David Leibovitch as counsel, and Daniel Lass as a Patent Agent. Jennifer Driscoll, an anti-trust and government investigations attorney who has spent over fifteen years working at prominent firms in Washington DC, recently joined the firm as counsel in New York.
