Cohen & Buckmann, P.C. Expands ERISA and Employee Benefits Practice Jeffrey Mamorsky and Terry Moore Join the Firm

Issued by Cohen & Buckmann P.C.

Apr. 30, 2023

New York (May 2023)—Cohen & Buckmann, P.C. announces the addition of ERISA and employee benefits leaders to the firm. Jeff Mamorsky joins the firm as a Partner, and Terry Moore serves as the Director of Employee Benefits Services. Jeff and Terry will continue to advise clients on sophisticated employee benefits and ERISA matters. They join Cohen & Buckmann following 23 years with Greenberg Traurig, a large, international law firm.

Jeffrey D. Mamorsky, Partner

Jeff Mamorsky is a leading ERISA and employee benefits attorney with an emphasis on legal issues involving retirement and welfare benefit plans. He serves as employee benefits counsel and provides fiduciary advice to plan sponsors which include large multinational corporations, financial institutions, insurance companies, closely held businesses, large not-for-profit organizations, governmental agencies, Big Four accounting firms, employee benefits consulting firms, large multiple-employer plans, and major multi-employer pension and welfare funds. With over 50 years of experience in ERISA and all aspects of employee benefits law, Jeff participated in drafting the original ERISA legislation and subsequently authored a two-volume treatise, Employee Benefits Law, which has been cited as authority by the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal and state courts.

Terry L. Moore, Director of Employee Benefits Services

As the Director of Employee Benefits Services, Terry consults with Cohen & Buckmann clients on employee benefits issues for tax-qualified retirement plans. Her tremendous range of experience includes qualified pension plans, 401(k) plans and nonqualified deferred compensation plans, multiple employer plans, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and 403(b) plans. She also handles the operational review of plans to comply with requirements for correction under the Internal Revenue Service's Employee Plans Compliance Resolution Program and DOL Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program. Notably, she is also a former tax law specialist in the Employee Plans Division of the Internal Revenue Service (National Office).

“Jeff and Terry are incredible additions to our firm. Both individuals have tremendous reputations across the ERISA and employee benefits field,” says Managing Partner Sandra Cohen. She continues, “Jeff’s work is legendary, spanning 50 years in ERISA. And Terry’s consulting impact is immeasurable for our clients as they work through employee benefits decisions.”

“Terry and I are excited about this next step in our career,” says Jeff Mamorsky. “We decided to join Cohen & Buckmann because of their extraordinary level of ERISA expertise, and the great respect we have for their attorneys who share our passion for fiduciary compliance. It’s an excellent fit for us.”
