Pennsylvanian Recognized for Helping Those in Need

Ambler, Pa., May 19, 2023 — For 25 years, Susan Diehl has volunteered her time to help people in need through Family Promise, a nonprofit that helps families experiencing homelessness through community- based programs. Today, her commitment to helping others has been honored with the Daily Point of Light Award by Points of Light, a nonpartisan, global nonprofit organization that inspires, equips, and mobilizes millions of people to take action that changes the world. 

The Daily Point of Light Award recognizes individuals who lead, support, and take actions that create positive change and meet community needs, efforts that often lead to long-term solutions. While in the White House, President George H. W. Bush instituted a daily recognition program, conferring 1,020 Daily Point of Light Awards on citizens and organizations making a big difference in people’s lives and solving community problems. Points of Light continues the recognition each weekday and has recognized more than 7,000 honorees to date.

“The Daily Point of Light Award recognizes those who saw something they wanted to improve in the world, then through their time, talent, and efforts, began making those improvements,” said Beth Pann, senior vice president, external affairs at Points of Light. “We’re pleased to honor Susan Diehl for her amazing work.”

Susan, who is president of PenServ Plan Services, Inc., has also been honored over the years by the National Tax-Deferred Savings Association (NTSA) for her volunteer service related to her profession as a retirement plan and benefits expert. Because of her expertise, exemplified by her impressive array of professional credentials, Susan testifies before the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor on retirement plan regulatory issues, serves as chair of the NTSA Government Affairs Committee, and on the Legislative Relations Committee of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.
