Segal, an HR and employee benefits consulting firm, has promoted six Senior Vice Presidents in July. The newly promoted SVPs include:

  • Elena Lynett, Senior Vice President, Senior Consultant, Compliance-Health (Washington, D.C.)
  • Robert “Bob” Mitchell, Senior Vice President, Benefits Consultant (Glendale)
  • James “Jim” Nolan, Senior Vice President, Actuary (Chicago)
  • Nura Patani, Senior Vice President and Health Practice Leader (Phoenix)
  • Todd Tauzer, Senior Vice President, Actuary (San Francisco)

Timothy “Tim” Losee, Senior Vice President, Benefits Consultant (San Francisco): Tim has more than 14 years of experience working with multiemployer health and welfare and pension plans in construction, entertainment, and transportation industries. Tim holds a BA in Business Economics with a minor in Statistical Science with Actuarial Emphasis from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Elena Lynett, Senior Vice President, Senior Consultant, Compliance-Health (Washington, D.C.): Elena has over 15 years of experience in healthcare regulation and compliance. She provides analysis of federal and state law impacting group health plan coverage and is an expert on compliance with the Affordable Care Act, the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, nondiscrimination and wellness provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. Elena is a member of the Bar of the District of Columbia. Elena was recognized by Employee Benefits News as one of the 2022 Excellence in Benefits Award Winners for helping organizations prioritize mental health and substance use support. 

Robert “Bob” Mitchell, Senior Vice President, Benefits Consultant (Glendale): Bob has over 20 years of experience working with employee benefits, group health insurance and retirement plans. He is an expert in all aspects of the design, financing, compliance and communications of employee and retiree health and welfare benefits for public sector and Taft-Hartley clients. 

James “Jim” Nolan, Senior Vice President, Actuary (Chicago): Jim has over 20 years of experience in multiemployer and single-employer pension plans. He is responsible for reviewing, supervising, and performing multiemployer pension valuations and related financial projects. His understanding of pension funding rules, withdrawal liability requirements and pension valuations, as well as his successful progression through actuarial exams, has led to his designation as consulting actuary for at least 15 regional and national organizations. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary.

Nura Patani, Senior Vice President and Health Practice Leader (Phoenix): Nura has more than 10 years of benefits consulting experience. Nura manages the firm’s Health Practice in the West Region. Nura has extensive experience in developing complex projections with custom-designed interactive live-modeling capabilities. She is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. 

Todd Tauzer, Senior Vice President, Actuary (San Francisco): Todd has 15 years of public plan experience, specializing in public pension funding, risk management and plan sustainability. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Todd is also a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst. He led development of a system risk-mitigation policy that earned the Government Finance Officers Association’s 2016 Award for Excellence in Government Finance. The Conference of Consulting Actuaries recognized Todd as the 2022 Most Valuable Volunteer. He received the inaugural 2022 Rising Actuary Award from the American Academy of Actuaries.
