Press Release

This 401(k) Day, 'Invest in You'

Issued by PSCA [Plan Sponsor Council of America]

Sept. 8, 2023

PSCA unveils new video-based education campaign for plan sponsors in honor of 401(k) Day.

Arlington, VA – Many years ago, PSCA designated the Friday after Labor Day as 401(k) Day – as a nod to the notion that retirement follows work. Each year PSCA creates a free education campaign for plan sponsors to use with their employees on 401(k) day or throughout the year.

As we commemorate 401(k) Day today, we embrace the theme “Invest in You” to emphasize the importance of personal growth, understanding, and prioritization of financial health for participants. PSCA’s commitment is to equip plan sponsors with tools to encourage plan participants to take charge of their financial futures.

The complete campaign, available on our website, embraces the shift towards digital learning in small doses, and the recognition that education is often best received from someone that employees recognize and trust. The campaign includes four scripts to be used by HR staff or leadership to create short videos to share on social media or company intranets and can be used as stand-alone items or be included as part of a larger campaign. These scripts are short snippets on various plan topics that motivate and educate plan participants about the significance of saving diligently for their retirement. The campaign also includes a comprehensive guide with best practices for filming educational content as well as a few participant resources.
