Just Futures Launches Values-Driven 401(k)s and 403(b)s

San Francisco, CA -- Just Futures, a public benefit investment firm, announces the public launch of its turnkey 401(k) and 403(b) employer-based retirement plans, designed to enable workers to save while staying true to their social justice values. The pioneering, people of color-led firm was founded by movement activists and nonprofit veterans to create the retirement platform that they always wished existed for themselves and their organizations.

Just Futures is answering a demand for retirement products that align with the values of nonprofit workers and workers at mission-driven companies. A 2023 survey by Nuveen found that 91% of millennial and Gen Z investors agree that having responsible investment options on their retirement menus would make them more loyal to their employer. In 2022, Just Futures conducted a nationwide listening tour of over 200 nonprofit organizations across the country which highlighted that nonprofit organizations and their workers did not believe values-aligned retirement options even existed. Recognizing the gap, Just Futures’ plans are designed to help minimize investment in sectors counteractive to social equity and long term risk management. The public announcement follows a pilot with nearly two dozen nonprofit organizations and mission-driven companies across the country whose work focuses on a range of issues, including racial inequality and the climate crisis.
