Press Release PSCA Launches 'Building Your Financial Future' Educational Campaign to Recognize of 401(k) Day |
Issued by PSCA [Plan Sponsor Council of America] Sept. 5, 2024 |
Arlington, VA – The Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA) today announced a free educational campaign – “Building Your Financial Future: Start Today, Retire Tomorrow” – to mark 401(k) Day on September 6. PSCA has long recognized the Friday after Labor Day as 401(k) Day to raise awareness of the importance of responsible retirement planning, providing resources for plan sponsors to use with their employees on 401(k) day and throughout the year. This year’s campaign theme focuses on building your financial future one step at a time, starting with participating in the plan and taking full advantage of a company’s 401(k) match. The campaign also includes “Fact or Fiction” slides that can address common barriers to employees enrolling in the plan. “Education is the first step for success as workers plan for their retirement. PSCA is grateful to the hard work of its Education and Communication committee members, who volunteered their time and expertise to provide this free campaign to plan sponsors,” said Will Hansen, executive director of PSCA. “This campaign can be used anytime throughout the year to encourage employees to save for retirement, either as a standalone campaign or in conjunction with open enrollment or other existing educational efforts.” Campaign materials include a sample outreach schedule, customizable flyers, and customizable presentations for interactive education sessions. This campaign as well as previous campaigns are available on PSCA’s website at: https://www.psca.org/industry-content/resources/401k-day/. 401(k) plans are a vital component of retirement planning for American workers. Tens of millions of moderate- and middle-income Americans participate in 401(k) plans to reach their retirement goals. Recent survey data shows that the majority of these workers are only saving for retirement because they have access to a 401(k) plan. About the Plan Sponsor Council of America The Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA), part of the American Retirement Association (ARA), is a diverse, collaborative community of employee benefit plan sponsors, working together on behalf of millions of employees to solve real problems, create positive change, and expand on the success of the employer-sponsored retirement system.
