Press Release Trucker Huss Director Joseph Faucher Inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel |
Issued by Trucker Huss Sept. 17, 2024 |
Trucker Huss, APC, is pleased to announce Director Joe Faucher was inducted as a 2024 Fellow of The American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC), at the College’s Annual Dinner held in Washington D.C. on September 14, 2024. This year’s induction ceremony also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the passage of ERISA. The award marks the tenth Trucker Huss attorney to be inducted into the ACEBC, demonstrating the Firm’s continued leadership in the employee benefits and ERISA industry. The ACEBC is an invitation-only organization of nationally recognized employee benefits legal experts with at least twenty years of experience as an employee benefits practitioner. Fellows of the ACEBC are selected by the College’s Board of Governors from among employee benefits attorneys nominated for that honor and recommended for consideration by the Board’s Membership Committee after considering the recommendations of regional screening committees. Selection as a Fellow reflects the Board’s judgment that a nominee has made significant contributions to the advancement of the employee benefits field. “On behalf of the firm, we extend our congratulations to Joe for his induction as a Fellow of The American College of Employee Benefits Counsel,” said Trucker Huss President Bob Schwartz. “Joe is truly deserving of this recognition – his exceptional skills and unwavering dedication to the practice of ERISA law have made it a privilege to have him at our Firm these past many years.” Joe has been litigating ERISA matters and other employee benefit related cases for more than 30 years. He has defended companies and other fiduciaries in actions alleging that plans paid excessive fees and offered imprudent investments and has represented plans and fiduciaries in numerous cases involving claims for benefits against retirement plans, disability insurance plans, health insurance plans and life insurance plans. He also has significant expertise in representing independent employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) trustees in cases brought by the U.S. Department of Labor and private plaintiffs, and in DOL investigations. In recent years, Joe’s work was instrumental in defending the State of California “CalSavers” program against a challenge by a taxpayer rights organization alleging that the CalSavers program was preempted by ERISA. Joe has consistently been recognized as a Southern California “Super Lawyer” since 2009, and by Best Lawyers® for 2024 and 2025. He is frequently sought after as a writer and speaker with respect to ERISA litigation and fiduciary issues. Other senior or retired Trucker Huss attorneys who are Fellows of the ACEBC include Barbara Creed, Scott Galbreath, Brad Huss, Clarissa Kang, Kevin Nolt, Mary Powell, Charles Storke, Lee Trucker and Nick White. |
