Press Release

Nominations for the NTSA Richard Ford Volunteer Service Award Now Accepted!

Issued by National Tax-Deferred Savings Association [NTSA]

Sept. 26, 2024

Do you know a colleague who deserves recognition for their outstanding service? If so, you have until Oct. 31, 2024 to nominate them for the 2025 NTSA Richard Ford Volunteer Service Award!

About the Award

The NTSA Richard Ford Volunteer Service Award is a prestigious lifetime service award that honors NTSA members who are role models for volunteer and service work with the NTSA and with their community. Awardees demonstrate outstanding commitment in the following areas:

  • Volunteering, by way of NTSA standing committees and projects - through the member’s donation of time and talent - in ways that are extraordinary, unique, and valuable
  • Community service - local or national - through the member’s donation of time and talent, in ways that are significant, innovative, and meaningful

The NTSA Richard Ford Volunteer Service Award was established in 2019, NTSA’s 30th year, to honor Richard Ford’s example. He was a founding NTSA member, who exemplified the NTSA values of volunteerism and service through his unique and meaningful contributions to NTSA and his community throughout his career. The NTSA established these Awards to recognize NTSA members who follow his example of giving back to the retirement industry and to the broader community.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the award, nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • Membership: must be an NTSA member for three (3) years, including the awards year (for 2025 awards, member as of 2023).
  • Member in good standing: must be an NTSA member in good standing and in full compliance with the ARA Code of Conduct.

If an NTSA Advisor Member, must be in good standing with FINRA and SEC, and also in good standing with state insurance regulators in the states where registered.

If not an NTSA Advisor Member, affirmation of good standing may be requested from supervisor, if other than nominator.

  • Volunteerism and service: must have a minimum of 10 hours in most recent calendar year preceding the nomination year, both for NTSA, as well as for their community (for the 2025 awards, with 2024 nomination year, the 2023 calendar year).
  • Past volunteerism and service: must have a minimum of 20 hours total in the last 1 to 5 years, for NTSA and separately also in their community (for the 2025 awards, with the 2024 nomination year, the 2019 - 2023 calendar years).
