Press Release PSCA Releases National HSA Day Materials for Employers |
Issued by PSCA [Plan Sponsor Council of America] Oct. 10, 2024 |
Recognizing Health Savings Accounts as part of a retirement savings approach, PSCA celebrates National HSA Day with free educational materials for plan sponsors Arlington, VA – The Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA) today announced free educational resources for employers to use to promote National HSA Day to employees. Recognized annually on October 15th, National HSA Day is an effort to educate employees about the power of a Health Savings Account as a savings vehicle for both current and future health care expenses. Reflecting the power of the HSA as not only a healthcare savings tool, but also a retirement planning tool, PSCA created an HSA-focused committee in 2017 to begin providing resources and research to members about their use and best practices for program design. One of the most consistent findings in PSCA’s now annual HSA survey is the challenge of educating employees about HSAs and their benefits, particularly in terms of retirement. “The HSA can be a powerful savings tool for healthcare expenses in retirement. National HSA Day provides an opportunity to help workers understand how HSAs can be included in their retirement planning,” said Will Hansen, PSCA’s Executive Director. “Mindful of the ongoing need to educate employees about the benefits of saving in an HSA, PSCA’s HSA Committee committed to providing annual free participant education resources in recognition of HSA Day. This national initiative is similar in fashion to the 401(k) materials PSCA provides every year.” National HSA Day materials this year include a flyer that employers can use either in print or email that briefly explains five key benefits of saving in an HSA as well as email banners. This flyer uses the theme “Invest in You” and can be used in conjunction with last year’s 401(k) Day campaign of the same theme. The flyer and ads can be downloaded for free at www.psca.org. About the Plan Sponsor Council of America The Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA), part of the American Retirement Association (ARA), is a diverse, collaborative community of employee benefit plan sponsors, working together on behalf of millions of employees to solve real problems, create positive change, and expand on the success of the employer-sponsored retirement system.
