Jay A. Dorsch Appointed to the 2025 ERISA Advisory Council by U.S. DOL

Jay Dorsch, chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice, was appointed by the U.S. Department of Labor to the 2025 ERISA Advisory Council. Dorsch will serve as one of three employer representatives on the 15-member council. The council provides advice to the Secretary of Labor on policies and regulations affecting employee benefit plans governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. 

Dorsch brings a wealth of experience to the work of the council, representing clients in all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation matters and related fiduciary and tax concerns. At Cozen O’Connor, he appears before the IRS, the Department of Labor, and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation to handle retirement plans (401(k), profit sharing, 403(b), and defined benefit pension plans). He also counsels corporations regarding the employee benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions, withdrawal liability, the fiduciary issues pertaining to plan assets, and other commercial transactions.
