Achievements Are Models for Other Companies Pursuing Value in Health Care NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Business Group on Health has honored both Dell Technologies and State Farm® with its esteemed Best Employers Award: Excellence in Health Care Value. The companies were cited for their leadership in developing health benefits programs that prize value and quality, comprehensive services and purchasing strategies, patient experience and outcomes, and the smart use of resources. The Business Group presented the honors yesterday at its Annual Conference in Nashville. “We are proud to celebrate these two outstanding companies for both pursuing and achieving value and innovation in health care,” said Ellen Kelsay, president and CEO of Business Group on Health. “Their accomplishments serve as examples for other employers seeking to deliver an innovative program and purchasing strategy, enhance health care quality and patient experience, use resources efficiently, and improve health outcomes.” Dell was cited for its programmatic focus and proven results favorably impacting health outcomes and affordability. The company was praised for its use of early, measurable goals for vendors that rely on data-driven assessments to drive accountability. Dell’s partnership with a surgical Center of Excellence has resulted in better outcomes and lowered costs. In addition, Dell’s cardiometabolic program to manage growing chronic health concerns such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity and the high demand and cost for GLP-1s, was also noted. “Many employers are reviewing their ecosystem and programs to identify value and simplify,” said Amy C. Green, Dell’s vice president for Global Benefits. “Our strategy addresses cost concerns while focusing on team member experience and outcomes. We are thrilled to be recognized by Business Group on Health, and we have already shared our vendor assessment and health care strategies with other employers, with the hope that they can mirror our successes.” State Farm was recognized for pursuing improvements in health outcomes and cost for employees. Through value-based health care programs such as an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and a Center of Excellence, State Farm provides employees with robust benefit options that are more affordable and deliver high member satisfaction. “This award reflects the commitment State Farm has in prioritizing the health and well-being of our employees,” said Michele Russo, senior vice president. “Over the last five years, we have built value-based health care into our total rewards programs. We are always looking for ways to deliver the best outcomes for our employees while keeping costs manageable. We aspire to create integrated solutions that connect our mission and purpose with both the physical and mental well-being of our employees, who distinguish us in the marketplace. We will continue to strive to provide competitive benefits that enable us to attract and retain top talent, ultimately positioning us to take the best care of our customers.” Previous winners include United Airlines, The Walt Disney Company, General Motors, Boeing, Cerner Corporation, Costco and Walmart, among others. Applicants for the Best Employers Award do not have to be members of the Business Group. Applications for the 2026 Best Employers Awards will be open in fall 2025.
