|
Issued by KLB Benefits Law Group May 2, 2025 |
|
KLB Benefits Law Group is delighted to welcome Kathleen Salas Bass as a partner of the firm! Of Counsel to KLB since it was established, Kathleen has been key to its success by providing timely and effective counsel to employers facing all sorts of technical complexities in their employee benefits programs. Kathleen has specialized in employee benefits law for 27 years. She and Doll Lank met at Stanford Law School where they formed a deep bond that has translated to a vibrant professional partnership. Having worked for firms both large and small, Kathleen brings a broad range of expertise to KLB. Her areas of specialty include defined contribution plans including ROBS plans, health and welfare plans, plan compliance, corrections, training, employee communications, IRS and DOL audit support, qualified domestic relations order issues, and benefits issues arising in mergers and acquisitions. Kathleen is active in the benefits community working with organizations such as the Western Pension and Benefits Council, and is currently on the Orange County Chapter board. She has held several leadership positions in local chapters of WPBC and also at the national level. She passionately believes that educated benefits professionals are essential for effective plan governance and compliance, and she devotes her time to organizations that promote professional learning opportunities. Kathleen has published several articles in Bloomberg Law’s Professional Perspectives and the Journal of Pension Benefits. You can regularly find her blog posts on our firm’s website and Benefitslink. Kathleen has always been invaluable to KLB, and with Kathleen as a shareholder, the firm will strengthen its small firm value for clients of all sizes. |
