SANDY, Utah -- Leading tech-forward 401(k) retirement plan provider 401GO announced the launch of GoConnect, a program dedicated to matching 401(k) plan sponsors with financial advisors. While financial advisors serve as their primary distribution channel, 401GO also works with companies setting up their own plans without an advisor.

Smith, who is spearheading GoConnect, pointed out that when 401(k) plan sponsors work with financial advisors, the benefits are numerous.

“It’s been shown that providing employees access to a financial advisor results in a significant increase to 401(k) contribution and participation rates,” Smith said. “In addition, making that benefit available improves employee recruiting and retention. Everybody associated with these partnerships benefits.”

Smith went on to cite a recent study by Northwestern Mutual showing that 75% of Americans working with an advisor report that they expect to be ready for retirement while the same is true for only 45% who do not.

GoConnect is part of a larger, multi-faceted practice management initiative 401GO is rolling out, aimed at adding value beyond 401(k) recordkeeping. Smith said that some of those initiatives will include benchmarking, lead generation and marketing consulting services.
