Helping Employees Maximize Their HSA Benefits on National HSA Day

Issued by PSCA [Plan Sponsor Council of America]

Oct. 14, 2025

PSCA releases free educational resources to promote health savings accounts as part of a retirement savings strategy.

Arlington, VA – In recognition of National HSA Day on October 15, the Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA) has released a suite of free educational resources to help employers inform employees about the value of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) as a powerful tool for both current and future health care savings — and as a strategic component of overall retirement planning.

HSAs are increasingly recognized as a valuable vehicle for long-term savings, and PSCA has been a leader in promoting their role in retirement readiness. Established in 2017, PSCA’s HSA Committee provides ongoing thought leadership and research. Its latest annual HSA benchmarking survey – the 7th annual report – was released last month.

One of the most consistent findings from the survey is the ongoing challenge of educating employees about HSA benefits, especially in the context of retirement. To address this, PSCA’s HSA Committee has developed free participant education materials for HSA Day, building on the success of its long-running 401(k) Day initiative.

This year’s materials include:

  • A customizable flyer highlighting the importance of naming a beneficiary for an HSA
  • A customizable PowerPoint presentation designed to help employees understand HSA savings strategies across various life stages
  • A set of ready-to-use web and email banner ads in multiple sizes

“As the role of HSAs in long-term financial planning continues to grow, it’s more important than ever to equip employees with the knowledge to use them effectively. PSCA’s HSA Committee is proud to provide free, accessible resources each year to help employers educate their workforce and support their journey toward financial wellness and retirement readiness,” said Will Hansen, PSCA’s Executive Director.

All National HSA Day educational materials are available for download at: https://www.psca.org/hsaday
