“Through the ASPPA-PenChecks Scholarship Program, we are able to support aspiring future retirement plan professionals as they pursue ASPPA’s various retirement professional credentials,” said Spiro Preovolos, President and CEO of PenChecks. He continued, “The scholarships help remove barriers to professional development, empowering individuals to expand their knowledge and expertise, and to continue the legacy that defines this stellar community.” ASPPA and PenChecks work together annually to offer scholarships to individuals pursuing professional credentials, helping to shape the future of retirement planning. The credentials include:
The scholarship covers exam fees, required reading materials, exam retakes, and the first year of membership dues. About the QKA The Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential program provides the technical knowledge and skills retirement plan professionals need to implement and administer defined contribution plans. About the QKS The Qualified 401(k) Specialist (QKS) credential program equips retirement plan professionals, especially in sales and client-facing roles with essential knowledge and skills for managing and selling DC plans. About the QKC The Qualified 401(k) Consultant (QKC) credential program teaches advanced DC testing and plan design techniques. The curriculum complements QKA plan administration knowledge and prepares retirement plan professionals to serve in a consultative capacity. About the QPA The QPA credential program provides the essential technical knowledge required to administer defined benefit (DB) plans and work effectively with clients who offer them. The curriculum covers various types of benefit plans, benefit accrual methods, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDRO), benefit calculations, valuations, and DB basics. About the CPC As ASPPA’s highest credential, the Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) credential is for individuals who want to demonstrate mastery of the detailed knowledge necessary to serve as a qualified plan consultant in all areas of plan design and administration.
