Universal Health Care Measure Introduced in California

Excerpt: A California health insurance premium tax that now only applies to commercial insurers would be extended to self-funded programs offered by employers and nonprofit insurers under recently introduced universal health care coverage legislation. The measure, A.B. 1670, would require all Californians to have coverage under a plan with a deductible no greater than $5,000.
