  1. I've removed the attachment, so that personal information will not be available here via BenefitsLink.
  2. Also this recent article may be of interest.
  3. SECURE 2.0 additions seem to be in the "amendment notes" at http://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=granuleid:USC-prelim-title26-section408&num=0&edition=prelim#408_2:
  4. Looks like the Cornell text has been updated to include SECURE 2.0 -- you can find it (along with other resources) here: https://benefitslink.com/research.html
  5. Does anything here help? https://benefitslink.com/search/index.cgi?datasource=MYDB&textQuery=covered+compensation+tables
  6. Congratulations -- wishing you all the best!
  7. Fillable PDF for 2023 Form 5500-EZ was just posted on the IRS website this morning, along with the relevant instructions.
  8. Word from BenefitsLink contacts at Relius is that they are planning to post it by the end of January 2024.
  9. Congratulations on your retirement! Best wishes for fair winds and following seas in the years ahead. And thank YOU for the kind words, as well as for all of your contributions to these Boards over the years -- we're honored to have been part of your journey.
  10. Sure -- I was more suggesting that the $2000 could be applied against the next deposit, and then reconciled on the 941. Or it can be reported as an overpayment, and check the box on the 941 to apply it to toward the next payment. Either way works, and doesn't require any refund or extra cash outlay (since they'd be paying with the 941 anyway). That assumes, of course, that they would have additional payroll taxes due/deposited soon-ish.
  11. Maybe not "reassigned", but "corrected" -- should be possible to submit a second payment through EFTPS using the plan's number, and then report the $2000 originally paid under the employer's EIN with the next 941. That would either offset other amounts due/paid, or will result in an overpayment, which should be refunded to the employer. Maybe that's the gist of what the payroll provider is trying to do?
  12. Looks like the credit was expanded by ARPA for 2021, but that expansion has expired. See https://www.irs.gov/publications/p503 (along with 2021 instructions and 2022 Instructions for Form 503) Draft of the 2023 Pub. 503 was recently issued; it also confirms the expansion has expired.
  13. Proposed regs released Friday morning 11/24 -- happy Thanksgiving, all!
  14. Happy to help. The entire BenefitsLink news archive is searchable -- that's where I found it.
  15. ASPPA has apparently been in touch with IRS to find a resolution -- see this November 7 article Their suggestion, pending further advice from IRS, is a(nother) response with a reference to the September 1 issue of IRS Employee Plans News. They also provide a contact at ASPPA who may be able to help.
  16. Scheduled publication date is November 3, 2023 -- which would put the close of the 60-day comment period at January 2, 2024. Links to Federal Register: Proposed regs Proposed amendments to PTE 2020-02 Proposed amendments to PTE 84-24 Proposed amendments to PTEs 75-1, 77-4, 80-83, 83-1
  17. Scheduled for publication in the October 20 Federal Register: https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection/2023-23267/mortality-tables-for-determining-present-value-under-defined-benefit-pension-plans
  18. You might find something useful in the BenefitsLink Events database Strafford and Lorman are other possibilities.
  19. For reference, here's a link to the form: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f2678.pdf
  20. New name is Inspira Financial. Website as of now is still at mtrustcompany.com
  21. Update from ASPPA today: https://www.napa-net.org/news-info/daily-news/irs-clarifies-erroneous-late-filing-notices-received-plan-sponsors-advisors
  22. Good question, George -- I haven't seen one; my guess is that the DOL update is in the queue with all the other SECURE 2.0 regs. Maybe post that question as a separate topic here, and see if anyone else has found it?
  23. Some web browsers struggle with some fillable PDF forms. Did you try right-click and download to your computer, then open in Adobe Reader? Alternatively, try this link -- apparently IRS has the form posted in a couple of different places.

Could they be waiting for Congressional action via technical corrections? The problem is in large part statutory at this point, no?
