Increased Catch-up Limit for ages 60-63 - mandatory?
Riley Britton replied to AMDG's topic in 401(k) Plans
Mandatory. -
They apparently change the percentage then.
-
I believe it's 15%, not 150%. Currently, individuals over 50 can make catch-up contributions of up to $7,500 in their 401(k) plans, as well as most 403(b) and 457(b) plans. Under SECURE 2.0, starting in 2025, individuals aged 60 to 63 will be able to make catch-up contributions of $10,000 or 50% more than the regular catch-up amount in 2025 — whichever is greater. The increased amounts will also be indexed for inflation after 2025.

Yes, spousal consent would be needed. You can name a non-citizen as a beneficiary.
-
Which is what I said - you're welcome!
-
I would think not. 10/7/2020 - 11/7/2020 is one month, no?

I got into this field 30 some years ago by mistake. I cannot imagine "wanting" to do this. Retire and find something else or enjoy your life. No one on their deathbed said, "I wish I'd spent more time at the office." Retiring soon and am so looking forward to it!!!!!!!
-
It's totally unnecessary and making things way.too.complicated. Retiring in 6 months and cannot wait to get out of this field. Thanks to our "president" we can only look forward to more of this mayhem.
-
6 months until retirement!! SO looking forward to it.

I was not referring to RMDs, just normal withdrawals at termination. RMDs are provided the W-4
-
We do not provide the W-4R. We advise them that applicable taxes will be taken but they can request an additional amount on the form.

Help! Filed 5500-EZ late, received CP 283 with a huge penalty.

This may help you https://www.irs.gov/individuals/understanding-your-cp283-notice Did you file for an extension? - I assume not since you received a CP283. I don't think personal issues is reasonable cause though. It's not that hard to file it timely. -
What does the document say? But that aside, the employer usually decides which percentage of ee deferrals to match.
-
RMDs are now 72. There are no benefits other than 100% vesting in most cases that MUST start at 65.
-
I would think no because they are still employed.

Re. pitching: The invisible man Luis Severino is always injured and a poor post-season performer//Garrett Cole is overrated//Jamison Taillon - they gave up 4 young players to attaing him and he's an aging surgically repaired retread//They need to change their pitching philosophy by developing a staff of sinker/slider pitchers in their minor league system and stop trading them away!
