  1. New client with 2 partners.... each partner filed for the SS4 for the new plan. Anyone dealt with this situation? Do you simply not use the extra SS4 ? do you notify Uncle Sam?
  2. How long does an IRA have to be in effect? Here is why I ask.... - Cleint sponsors a 401(K) plan and maxes out - Client makes an IRA contribution - Client now wants to roll the IRA into the K plan What is to prevent the client from doing this every year ... is there a rule that does just that?
  3. Blinkey... that was my first thought... someone who has been administering X-tested plans and doesnt know what an EBAR is? I guess my wit is not as quick as yours... or maybe you have 3 b*lls in addition to 3 eyes when it comes to posting (Example REF: your post about the generous plan sponsor and the monument erected in his behalf). Maybe when I get to 2300 posts I will be as bold as you. I will admit... I enjoy your posts and found myself giggling when I read many of them. Lets hope that you dont beach yourself one of these days.
  4. which is why I thought the 3% NEC would work well.... I am still waiting for Toms "Cross-testing for Dummies" book
  5. Tom.. using your example, if it was not a match but rather a SH 3% NEC, can the 3% be part of the gateway? and will it (the 4.44% gateway) also cover TH in essence killing 3 birds with one stone (gateway, SH, and TH)
  6. Cabrera did work well late last year... some clutch hitting in the playoffs and excellent fielding. I never understood that... letting him go. Was it a $$ thing also? The new SS looks a little rusty. Cant let the Yanks intimidate us... I wonder what is going on with the game today?
  7. This may help... March 4, 2004 Posting
  8. After a horrible start by Mr Wells... Redsox Nation is pretty silent. But then we are only 1 game back. Hope they do better today! Pedro was fabulous for the Mets... we should have forked up the $$!!! my opinion
  9. Correct... my understanding is that if the refinancing was to replace the actual initial principal residence loan it would have been ok... but a simple 2nd mortgage loan can not be issued by a plan and have a term of 15 years.... as per the example.
  10. Thank you... On a side question... where did you cut and paste this from? a website?
  11. Newly disabled client establishing a plan... wants to borrow to renovate his principal residence or eliminate 2nd mort. Can term be longer than 5 years? Not a purchase.
  12. Well Duuuuhhhh..... Probably the same thing you are doing. I wonder if that game will be nationally televised? Not that I have to worry about that!
  13. I don't pretend to understand... but I did uderstand the outcome of the Red Sox - Yankees game... Red Sox 7, Yankees 2 (sorry... couldnt resist)
  14. But... if you were part of a 457 and a 401a plan you could. Only catch.
  15. What happens when a participant dies and there is an outstanding loan that the surviving spouse knew nothing about? No spousal signature on the loan doc. Is she liable for the loan? any recourse?
  16. Dang.... me too! wish I was around to answer that one!
  17. According to Buddy the Elf (Will Farrell)... it is Sugar, Candy, Candy Corn, and Syrup
  18. Not even close... Married -5 kids- ages 1 to 18
  19. Forgot this one.... 1. Beer is a food group and it is perfectly acceptable to have one in ones hand any hour of the day and any day of the week
  20. Yes... that monster printer that ate up boxes of computer paper... landscape. I remember having to change the paper to print participant certs. A dynamo... Still have that also! I didnt think that Fred's made it to the board after I tried to load it as an attachment. I actually gave up after it kept loading... and loading... Too bad there aren't any instructions. (Hope you dont mind I put it up.... say the word and I will take it down. I guess since I put it there I have the power to take it back.) Question for the x-testing "Gurus"... do you perform the testing by hand... or use spreadsheets and or admin software?
  21. Here is that other SS... Fred's. XTEST_K_with_report.XLS
  22. PENTABS.... was that the DOS program that used a Vector computer with the brians of a now hand held calculator... cost about $50k ? Out of Santa Barbara CA? Back in ...ohhhh... 1983? we had that, may still in storage. I actually designed a MS Access database and used their screen numbers (i.e. an investment is #4) because it was so familiar. I have this spreadsheet... honestly can't remember who sent it to me. Is it yours Tom? If not, would you critique it for me? Cross testing is something that I have farmed out... but would like to be more comfortable doing it myself. (I especially like the little hats in the equations... and the happy contra rebels that Blinky pointed out in the other post) XTEST_K_with_report.XLS
  23. Datair.... Forms are approved (They said they were the first). I used to use Accudraft as a stand alone program until I went to Datair to do it all.
  24. And with one eye closed... (wish I had 3 eyes)
  25. If the HCEs receive less than the 3% TH min you give the NHCEs the same lesser %
