BG5150 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 The plan has been amended to allow for rollovers to an inherited IRA by a non-spouse per PPA. Do I now have to withhold the 20% federal tax if the beneficiary is not rolling the money over? QKA, QPA, CPC, ERPATwo wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left.
rcline46 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 To add a bit of clarity. The IRS claims this is NOT a rollover, it is a transfer. This preserves the non-rollable taxation treatment of the lump sums.
