ombskid Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Employer has a particularly difficult employee whose English is spotty, and who is determined to take "all of my money" from the profit sharing plan when he leaves the company next month. Does anyone know of an explanation of the mandatory withholding rules in Spanish?
Peter Gulia Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 If you go to the IRS's website page for "Forms and Publications" and put "(SP)" in the Find box (and leave the Find function set to "Product Number"), the search retrieves 117 forms and publications. Then, you might scroll through the list to see whether you find anything that might help meet your client's purpose. Peter Gulia Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Also, the IRS in 2002 published a Spanish version of the OLD edition of the 402(f) eligible-rollover-distribution explanation. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-irbs/irb02-18.pdf Peter Gulia PC Fiduciary Guidance Counsel Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 215-732-1552 Peter@FiduciaryGuidanceCounsel.com
masteff Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 In Notice 2009-68, the IRS says "It is expected that the IRS will publish a Spanish translation of these safe harbor explanations." But I find no evidence that they ever did. You could try calling some of the larger firms like Fidelity and TIAACREF and ask for a copy of theirs.
