For a continuing calendar year plan, as of today 1/6/19, can I file a 2017 5500EZ or do I have to wait until the IRS releases the 2018 EZ?

Trying to avoid teaching an 80 yr old how to file an SF or teaching him to scan & email me a signed SF.

Thank you

I'm sure you can't use a 2017 5500 or 5500SF and would assume the same applies to the EZ.

Would it be the end of the world to send him paper with "Sign here" stickers?  We still do that... a lot.

Or just wait until the 2018 EZ is released?

I guess, but 1) why wait, and 2) why ever file an EZ when you can do an SF/one man filing and get proof of filing?

Oh I agree with you, I just didn't see the rush in getting an EZ filed now.

Just trying to strike while the iron is hot.  Meaning when all the details and my hard work are fresh and he won't grouse about paying my fees.

thanks
