ASPPA [American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries]

May 5, 2021
On-Demand
Webinar

Speaker:  J.Tyler Wilson, QPA, QKC, QKA, Retirement Plan Consultant, DWC – The 401(k) Experts

Experience Level for Attendees: Basic

Target Audience:  TPAs, administrators, advisers, Record Keepers, CPAs who perform audits for 401(k) plans, ERISA Attorneys

IRS Program Number:  CZTXU-Q-01308-21-O

Description:  Come prepared to get involved! During this webcast, we’ll manually calculate coverage by determining who’s benefitting, excluded, and excludable (yes, there’s a difference; and yes, we’ll cover it). We’ll also look into what must be done when a plan fails coverage. Here’s a hint: The first step is to read the document.

Learning Objectives

  1. Determine who is benefitting, excluded, or excludable from the coverage testing group.
  2. Ensure your ability to perform the ratio percentage and average benefits tests.
  3. Master the steps to take in correcting a failed coverage test.

About the Speaker:

Tyler Wilson has more than 13 years of experience in the retirement plan industry, with his last four serving as a member of the Management Team at DWC – The 401(k) Experts. He is currently a member of DWC’s Consulting Team where he serves as a technical resource, reviews plan design and plan documents, provides blog content and technical peer reviews for the website, and prepares complex correction projects including VCP submissions. Tyler has also been published in The Journal of Pension Benefits.
