Trump Accounts: What Practitioners Need to Know

ASPPA [American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries]

June 15, 2026
On-Demand
Webinar

Trump Accounts are available beginning in July of 2026 and retirement plan practitioners need a clear understanding of how these accounts work and where guidance is still developing. This session reviews the history of Trump Accounts and the potential for continuation and expansion. We will cover what is known today, including eligibility, account setup, initial contributions, deferral and employer contribution features and the differences between the pilot program and standard Trump Accounts. The session also address key open issues, including nondiscrimination requirements, potential ERISA considerations and unresolved questions around investment options. The session concludes with practical guidance on how Trump Accounts may fit into employer benefits strategies and how practitioners can effectively communicate with employers about these accounts.
