justanotheradmin Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Has anyone had issues getting their login updated for the IRS' secure messaging portal? Looks like they did an update and even when I try to follow the instructions it is not letting me in. Any tips or tricks? https://www.irs.gov/help/tege-secure-messaging I'm a stranger on the internet. Nothing I write is tax or legal advice. I'd like a witty saying here, but I don't have any. When in doubt, what does the plan document say?
Gadgetfreak Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 I received an email like that and, similarly, it didn't work for me. There is no number, name, department or email to contact. I reached out to the IRS agent that I am currently working with on a client audit. He told me the e-mails went out to everyone but each agent will send their communication through this portal as needed. So, if you are not expecting anything now (and he told me he didn't send me anything), he told me just wait for the next time an agent sends something, and then I will be given the chance to access it again. This only sounds somewhat accurate but I don't have the energy to pursue this any further. The next time I need it, I will see what happens. Lou S. and justanotheradmin 2 ERPA, QPA, QKA

Because I like this answer, I'm going to assume it is 100% correct. justanotheradmin, Lou S. and David Schultz 3 William C. Presson, ERPA, QPA, QKA bill.presson@gmail.com C 205.994.4070
justanotheradmin Posted October 28, 2024 Author Posted October 28, 2024 I had to send some files, so the IRS agent on one audit was able to send me a link and a code for a separate one time upload option, separate from the secure messaging. It worked, but I will need to contact them every time I want to send something, so I will be more likely to wait until I have several items to send together, or I absolutely have to get something to them, before I contact them for a new code. The agent was very understanding and patient, but I'm sure its taxing to have to get individual links/codes out every time someone needs to send you something! Also good to know I'm not the only one who isn't able to figure out the new system. I'm a stranger on the internet. Nothing I write is tax or legal advice. I'd like a witty saying here, but I don't have any. When in doubt, what does the plan document say?
