5500sorBust Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 With the newly released Summary Annual Report model notice updates, were any changes actually made to the wording from the prior version?
Bug on my window Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Can you tell us where you heard about updates? The above is my opinion only, not anyone else's. I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV.
C. B. Zeller Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Here is what FTWilliam said about the change: Quote Recently the Department of Labor (DOL) made some updates to the Model SAR for Pension Plans, Welfare Plans and the Model Notice of Waiver of Financial Statement Audit. Lois Baker Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Links to the EBSA updates were included in the BenefitsLink Retirement Plans newsletter and the BenefitsLink Health & Welfare Plans newsletter last Wednesday (June 5). Here's what CBIZ noted about changes: Quote These revised versions made minor changes to prior model SAR language; for example, the address where plan participants can request a full copy of a Form 5500 has changed.

Here's what CBIZ noted about changes: Thanks Lois! I did see that, however I am not tracking what changed with "the address where plan participants can request a fully copy of a Form 5500." It looks like maybe the bold part in the paragraph of the Summary Annual Report below is new? Thoughts anyone? Maybe someone has a copy of the previous model notice? You also have the legally protected right to examine the annual report at the main office of the plan (address), (at any other location where the report is available for examination), and at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C., or to obtain a copy from the U.S. Department of Labor upon payment of copying costs. Requests to the Department should be addressed to: Public Disclosure Room, Room N-1513, Employee Benefits Security Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210.
Bird Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 It's the web address... On 6/11/2019 at 5:22 PM, C. B. Zeller said: http://www.dol.gov/ebsa changed to https://www.dol.gov/agencies/ebsa Ed Snyder
Kristina Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 The change does not apply to the full SAR for a large Plan. Only to a small plan waiving the audit requirement. Kristina
