New Service Industry Productivity Measures Produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (PDF)
U.S. Department of Labor [DOL]
Sept. 13, 2004 Excerpt: The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has developed labor productivity measures and related series for three service industries--video tape and disc rental (NAICS 53223), travel agencies (NAICS 56151), and janitorial services (56172). The introduction of these measures reflects the ongoing BLS effort to expand productivity measurement in the service-producing sector. This report discusses developments in the new measures over the period 1987 through 2002. MORE >> |
