Excerpt: Medical imaging is one of the fast-growing pieces of the health care bill, with spending approaching $100 billion a year. There is a growing movement among insurers and health care planners to try to rein in expenses associated with high-tech scans such as CTs, short for computerized tomography, and MRIs, or magnetic resonance imaging.
