Now you are getting into the heart of how much it costs to retire to a developing country. Unless you are a citizen of Costa Rica, you may need to buy an overseas policy issued by an insurer in your home country. For U.S. citizens, Medicare generally doesn't cover treatment in foreign countries, so you may have to come back for medical care.
