Pension Reform Conference Falls Apart over Multiemployer Relief
3/29/04. Excerpt: "A House and Senate pension conference on the Pension Funding Equity Bill of 2003 (HR 3108), which would establish a new interest rate for determining the liability of defined benefit pension plans, fell apart on March 26 after Democrats rejected a House Republican proposal to reduce the number of multiemployer pension plans eligible for federal relief.
