Excerpt from press release: The multiemployer defined benefit pension plans recently surveyed by The Segal Company continue to be very well-funded. The 2000 Survey of the Funded Position of Multiemployer Plans includes 462 multiemployer plans with combined assets of almost $130 billion. The survey found that 79% of the plans surveyed were fully funded for their vested benefits. This percentage is up from 77% in the previous survey in 1999.
