  1. I did ask the first agent why they were auditing a plan that required no discrimination testing, etc... (family business) he just kind of fumbled around with the standard, "could be many reasons" line, but did say they were trying to stay busy. This next one is a one man plan ,with no contributions..... really a huge waste of time, and they are not even visiting my office or clients office - just a teams meeting Just curious if any other areas are getting audits. I have not had a plan audit in over 10 years
  2. These were very small 1 man plans for 2022-2024- in Houston Tx The first one was a family business with 3 family members only , audit went thru with no issues I am currently working on the 1 man plan - via zoom meeting and should be no issues Neither plan had any red flags, all data requested I had available Just curious, could the IRS possibly target my firm?
  3. Has anyone started receiving audit request - I have had two of my clients audited in last 2 months

  12. as far as I can tell from the instructions with a self funded plan - you are exempt from all the schedules H, and would have nothing to report for Schedule C or G . Just seems like such limited amount of info to file, just worried I am missing something. Have I missed something
  13. Have a welfare benefit plan funded from general assets of sponsor over 100 employees Taking the position no audit required - so as far as I can tell all I file are the 3 pages of the 5500 - no schedule H or schedule C? thanks

    5500EZ

    5500EZ

Thank you - my question is the term "partners" - this plan has two owners, no employees, but it is not a Partnership for business entity type - it is set up as an S Corp for taxing purposes - not an LLP so does the term partner mean taxing entity of business or just only owners?

    5500EZ

had a call from an accountant asking is a client that is a Sub S considered to fall under the Owner only rule (2 owners in sub s) for filing of the 5500EZ as long as assets are under 250 limit I have always thought the instructions used the word partnership and thus an EZ option was not available for Sub S corp structure - ?
