Gina Alsdorf Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Good Morning, This is a long shot I know But I am looking for the version of the E*TRADE Prototype Standardized PSP, BPD and AA. This is a group plan not the solo(k). I would like the plan in effect in 2013. Before I write to the IRS, I am hoping someone has one lying around. Bri Posted March 31 Posted March 31 See, now this is the kind of thing that those Opinion Letter serial numbers are good for. Unfortunately 2013 is too far back for this, but if this had been a year these were reported, you could find a slew of clients using that document, and then you'd have a list of potential cold-calls that might hit! "Hi, you don't know me, and I don't even want your adoption agreement, just the basic plan document...." Gina Alsdorf 1
Gina Alsdorf Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 I talked to E*Trade yesterday, the account is not in there system any longer so they wouldn't even talk to me. I got my sponsor online, they couldn't verify them, because this was 13 years ago. They wouldn't let me talk to their Tax and Benefits people. They also said they didn't have this document. 1) I don't believe that for a minute. You can't tell me a prototype document sponsor doesn't keep its documents. 2) I am about to try and get it through a request from the IRS. They keep everything.

Paul I Posted April 1 Posted April 1 @Bri 's suggestion is a good one. Keep in mind that in electronic filings of Form 5500 started in 2009. You are looking for a plan in effect in 2013 which conceivably could be an EGTRRA or PPA plan. Looking at EGTRRA documents, E*trade sponsored standardized profit sharing plan/CODA plan https://benefitslink.com/boards/topic/81080-etrade-prototype-standard-psp/ (see page 37) approved on 10/29/2008. This matches the IRS determination letter number M288284 in your original post. Using the 5500 search feature https://www.efast.dol.gov/5500Search/ and filtering "e*trade" in the plan name and then adding a filter for plan numbers "001 002 003" brings up a list of plans. This includes a handful of one participant plans, but since E*trade did not have a special document for one-person plans, it is reasonable to expect that the standardized profit sharing plan/CODA basic plan document was used for all of their 401k plans. If you download the associated 5500 filing, it will give you a contact name and phone number. Good hunting!
Jakyasar Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Here is a link to the IRS website for the opinion letters. I checked as far as EGTRRA and E*TRADE has PSP and MPP listed. May not help locating the actual documents you are looking for but at least the opinion letters are there. Gina Alsdorf Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 It is the EGTRAA PSP document I am looking for not the owner only document. I am confusing two separate plans. I may just request the document from the IRS, which a plan sponsor can do under section 6401 per the internet. It's one way to make sure I get the correct doc!
